Houston police said Edward Tremayne Jamison, 34, stopped his car West Donovan Street near Bersey Lane in Northwest Houston at about 5:30 p.m. Monday and blocked the street.

Jamison got out of his car and approached a 26-year-old woman who was driving another car, investigators said. He pointed a gun at the woman and she fled and called 911, police said.

Investigators said Jamison returned while officers were interviewing the woman. Officers told him to stop, but he tried to run over an officer as he fled the scene.
The officer fired several shots at Jamison, police said. Jamison hit a parked car, jumped out and ran away, investigators said.

Detectives said Jamison surrendered to officers at Ben Taub Hospital on Tuesday. He was treated there for wounds suffered during Monday's incident and released into police custody.

Jamison has been charged with four felonies: aggravated assault against a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
