Officer shoots chase suspect in torso

A car chase suspect was flown to a hospital via Life Flight after he was shot in the torso by a city of South Houston officer Thursday night.
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A city of South Houston officer shot a chase suspect in the torso Thursday night after the suspect refused to show his hands.An undercover narcotics detective was following the suspect and had requested a marked unit pull him over, police said. When the officer in the marked car tried to pull him over, the suspect led him on a chase until he crashed in a ditch at Texas and Nevada.
The officer asked the suspect to show his hands, but when the suspect ignored the request, the other shot him in the upper arm/chest area.
The suspect was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight in an unknown condition.
