HOUSTON -- A man was shot and killed by a Harris County deputy after a family dispute, investigators said.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said they were called to a home on the 1400 block of Castle Glenn Drive in Northeast Harris County on Sunday.

Investigators said when a deputy arrived, he was told a man inside the home had threatened a relative.

The deputy entered the home and a man holding an iron pipe threatened him, detectives said.

Investigators said the deputy ordered the man to drop the weapon. When the man refused, the deputy fired one shot, detectives said.

The man was wounded in the upper body, deputies said. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died, officials said. His name has not been released.
